I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in relationship issues, life transitions, spiritual issues, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, women's issues, and recovery from trauma or abuse. I take a relational approach to my work, as I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a key tool to building change. As clients build a healthy therapeutic relationship, they learn to live more healthfully in their relationships outside of therapy. I strive to be authentic, warm and nurturing as a therapist, and I will work with you to individualize your therapy to meet your needs.
I have worked in a number of different settings including church settings, community mental health, inpatient hospitals, partial/day treatment programs, and eating disorder treatment centers. I enjoy working with individuals, families and groups. I typically work from modalities such as: Interpersonal Process Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Insight-oriented therapy.
I also have training in theology and gender studies. I recognize that faith and spirituality are sometimes core to one's identity, and may be at the heart of the challenges you are facing. I am committed to respecting your faith, if you choose to discuss such matters in therapy. I also have experience working with people who identify as LGBTQ and welcome people from this community with acceptance and understanding.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), as well as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant.
